PHONE LINE ISSUES NOVEMBER 21st 2024
St Georges Surgery are having a problem with their phone lines at the moment and patients have advised that when they are phoning the surgery the phone will ring but nobody is answering the call. Patients are also being cut off while they are waiting to get through to the surgery. We are very sorry for this inconvenience and will try to resolve this issue as soon as possible. If you have struggled to reach us during our opening times 08.00am-18.30pm please phone 111 for advise if your health concern can't wait until the following day. Thank you for your patience at this time.

Flu Vaccination
Protect yourself against flu – everyone over 65, health and care workers, carers, pregnant women and people with underlying health conditions can all book a free flu vaccine now.
Flu can be very serious. Like COVID-19, it is caused by a virus and it can lead to illnesses such as bronchitis and pneumonia, which may need treatment in hospital.
There are outbreaks of flu most winters. In a normal winter, thousands of people will die from flu-related illnesses in the UK.
This winter we may see COVID-19 and flu both circulating at the same time, so it’s very important to get protected.
Having a flu vaccine every year is one of the best ways to protect against flu. Flu vaccines are quick and very safe, and could prevent weeks of serious illness.

RSV Vaccination
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of respiratory tract infections. For most adults and children, RSV causes a mild illness, such as a cough or cold, and usually gets better on its own. In a small number of older adults, particularly those with heart or lung disease or a weakened immune system, RSV infection can lead to serious health problems such as pneumonia (infection of the lungs) or even death.
We are offering RSV vaccination to those aged 75-79 years. Please contact the surgery to book an appointment with a Practice Nurse.
Common Ailments Scheme
The pharmacy common ailment service is a scheme whereby patients are encouraged to consult a participating community pharmacy, rather than their own GP or out-of-hours GP. As qualified healthcare professionals, they can dispense prescribed medication and offer free clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for a range of common ailments, such as coughs, colds, skin rashes, bites and aches and pains. If you are suffering with mental health issues, you may also wish to contact the CALL Mental Health Helpline for Wales on 0800 132737.
Alternatively, you can contact 111 option 2 which is a service open 24 hours a day, seven days a week – offering urgent mental health support to people of all ages across North Wales. The number is free to call from a landline or mobile, even if you have no credit left.
